Keep serving when the Wi-Fi drops
Tables, orders and kitchen printers keep going without internet. When the connection comes back, everything syncs on its own and every payment is taken once.
The internet is down. Orders, tables and kitchen printers keep working, and payments wait. The connection is back. The waiting orders synced by themselves, with no taps.
What keeps working, and what waits for internet
A clear line, so your team always knows what they can do. Nothing is charged or recorded as paid while a device is offline.
Works offline
- Tables and ordersOpen tables, add items and notes, and keep service going as usual.
- New To-Go ordersType the guest’s name and phone number and start the order.
- Receipt and ticket numbersEach new order gets this device’s next number. None repeat a number used today.
- Kitchen printersPrinters on your local network print the ticket right away.
- Closing the appClose it and reopen it. Every waiting order is still listed.
Waits for internet
- Card paymentsTaken once the device is back online. Nothing is charged offline.
- Cash paymentsRecorded once the device is back online. The app says so on screen.
- Kitchen display cardsAppear after reconnect, once. Printed tickets never print a second time.
- Online orderingYour online ordering needs an internet connection.
- Another device’s orderView-only while you’re offline.
The screen
An offline strip at the top says what still works. Nothing dims the screen.
Device names
Every device has its own short name, so numbers never clash. If two share a name, Kuber shows a warning.
Sign out
“Sign out device” is refused while orders are waiting to sync, so nothing is left behind.
Sixteen minutes offline. Nobody had to tap a thing.
When the connection comes back, the “Waiting to sync” list empties by itself. Every device shows the same items, notes and numbers, and each order is paid once and completed once in Reports and Transactions.
If an outage runs long, you’ll know
A device that has been offline for more than 24 hours shows a red warning to tell a manager. Orders that have waited more than a day are listed with a Show button, and Ask Kuber lists them under Needs attention.
Meet Ask KuberWhen two devices change the same order
Different lines from each device are both kept, and the check is re-priced. If the same line changed on both, the order is marked Needs review with both versions side by side. You choose Merge, Keep this device or Keep the cloud.
See it in a demoDifferent lines, both kept
Two servers add to one table from two devices. Both sets of items stay, and the check is re-priced.
A payment is never dropped
A payment taken on any device always stays on the order, whichever version you keep.
No closing behind your back
An order isn’t closed while another device still has changes on it.
Never charged twice, even when the network blinks
Trouble can hit in the middle of a payment. Kuber is built so a guest is never charged a second time, and staff are told exactly what to do.
Card charges are recovered, never repeated
Every card charge carries its own id. If the network drops mid-payment, Kuber finds that charge by its id when the connection is back and saves it once. If a charge went through and didn’t save, the screen says “Charged but not saved”, so nobody runs the card again.
Explore paymentsCash is saved, or Kuber asks you to check
If the network wobbles while you take cash, the payment is either saved or the app asks you to check the order. It never records a second payment. Kitchen tickets are marked once, too.
